Founded in 1986, Lummez Sales Co., Inc., has grown to become a leader in the distribution and implementation of 'Green' aqueous non-hazardous replacements for the old line chlorine and solvent based cleaners and degreasers of the post WWII years. The year 1987 marked the beginning of this new era. Mary Ellen secured the first industrial distributorship for the, then largely unknown, aqueous based product Simple Green.
Her success in capturing ever increasing chunks of the St. Louis marketplace was due in large part to the employee and environmental safety associated with the use of Simple Green. In addition her invention of the first solely aqueous based heated and recirculating parts washer proved emphatically that aqueous based Simple Green could withstand the rigors of parts washing. Dip tank operations and pressure spay applications followed with similar success.
Now in to its 21st year, LUMMEZ Sales Company has expanded not only its line card but its reach to encompass the continental United States. Achieving this position of leadership in an ever increasingly competitive marketplace did not come easily. Without her vision and leadership and the trust placed in her by her customers none of this would be possible.
